Background and Rationale

In any educational institution, student occupy a pivotal position and all activities revolve round them… Therefore, the overall institutional ambience must reflect planned efforts for the welfare of its main stakeholder and the activities must not be just confined to narrow goals of achievements of desired academic standards but also incorporate conscious efforts directed towards overall welfare of the students.

Functions and Responsibilities


The Student Welfare Cell effectively co-ordinates with other cells which look after the welfare of the students and guides as well as encourages them to avail the facilities offered by them.

  • Examination Cell :
    Examination Cell is devoted to uniform transparent and credible conduct of examinations.
  • Attendance Cell :
    Attendance Cell monitors day to day attendance with monthly display on Notice Boards and University website.
  • N.S.S. Unit :
    N.S.S. Unit brings our students closer to the society and inculcates social awareness among them.
  • Student Guidance Clinic : Student Guidance Clinic offers guidance and counseling to the needy students.


  • To recognize meritorious students based on their performance in University examinations and recommend their name to the Head of the Institution for College/University Level Awards as per policy guidelines.
  • To identify advance learners and encourage them to take up sponsored/Unsponsored Short Term Research Projects, under the guidance of senior teachers participate in academic activities organized in and outside the institution and recognize their achievements appropriately
  • To guide and encourage the post-graduate students to present their research work at speciality conferences seeking help from the research guidance clinic and appropriately appreciate their achievements.
  • To encourage the students to participate in Intercollegiate Debate Competitions. Quiz and Cultural Programs and appreciate their achievements.
  • To promote physical well being by encouraging students to participate in Institutional, Interinstitutional and Inter-university Sports Events.
  • To identify students with noteworthy/exemplary achievements and recommend them for suitable awards.
  • To guide the students regarding free-ships, fee concessions, book bank and other facilities available for them.
  • To engage students in all such activities aimed at welfare of the students or as directed by the higher authorities.
  • To maintain the relevant data, preferably in electronic storage system for easy retrieval.
